Fees
Why fees are necessary
The Department of Education (DE) subsidizes kindergartens, but fees are necessary due to a shortfall in government funding versus operational costs. It also states that fees apply for enrolments beyond the 15 hours of free kinder government allocation.
Costs like telephone, gas, electricity, equipment, and staff salaries are paid through fees, fundraising, donations, and government subsidies.
Prompt payment of fees is crucial for operational costs and the Committee of Management can withdraw service for non-payment.
Note for 3 and 4 YO children: if a child attends another service for DE funding, Brookville reserves the right to charge full term fees plus the unreceived subsidy. Similarly, for a child repeating 4-year-old kindergarten without DE approval, full term fees plus unreceived subsidy will be charged.
Wait List Fee
A $60 waitlist fee is paid with your waitlist application form.
Enrolment Fee
A confirmation of enrolment fee is payable to secure a child's place, and the kindergarten may request an upfront payment of term fees.
For 15-hour free kinder places, people can opt to have this fee refunded upon commencement.
Maintenance Levy
A maintenance levy of $25 per term per child is payable to support the ongoing care, upkeep and maintenance of the kindergarten.
All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Fees are subject to change based on the discretion of the Committee of Management to ensure the operational viability of the Kindergarten.
